Q. How do I transfer my videos from my camera to my computer?
If you already have a digital camcorder (one that captures in Digital8, MiniDV, HDV, or any of the DVD formats), then you're ready to start pretending to be in Top Gear. Your camcorder will need some kind of direct connection to your computer, either to the USB or FireWire ports or by inserting the DVD you've recorded. Once you've downloaded the video from the camera, you can upload it to Caroom or bring it into an editing program to play with it some more.

 


Q. What file format does my video have to be?
With Caroom we accept a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG. These can be transferred from most (modern) digital cameras,camcorders, and cell phones.


Q. What size and length should the video be?
The length of the video can last upto 10 minutes and can go upto 1GB in size. Ideally the video should be a couple of minutes long. Keep it short and sweet, and informative! (look at tips for making videos).


Q. How do I upload my videos?
Once you have registered, make sure your video is the correct size and format(s). then follow the upload link.
